Classic Goldoni Play Returns to Italian Television via Rai
Director Valerio Binasco stages Carlo Goldoni's "Una delle ultime sere di carnovale" (One of the Last Nights of Carnival), depicting the 18th-century playwright's farewell to Venice before departing for Paris. Binasco presents an impoverished 1700s setting reminiscent of Dickens-era social realism, populated by ordinary citizens making revolutionary decisions. The theatrical production airs on Rai 1, bringing classical Italian drama to contemporary mainstream television audiences.
